Meet Blushandsage

Rachael Heritage a.k.a. blushandsage is a 29 year old beauty blogger. She loves trying out products and reviewing them for her over 4,000 followers. We asked Rachael to write about some of her favourite products from Calissa.

Calissa stock some of my favourite brands, let me tell you about some that I have been trying and loving recently.

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Pore Perfecting Cleanser

This has become one of my favourite AM cleansers, it’s surprised me as it’s gentle and hydrating but leaves skin deeply cleansed and smooth. Usually these kinds of cleansers dry me out like a prune! The soap and sulphate free gel takes a little massaging to get going and needs quite a bit of water before forming into a lather, but once you get there it’s gives fantastic results!

Akin Micellar Water

This cucumber scented micellar feels extremely soothing and gentle on the eyes. It removes all traces of eye makeup with ease so no need to rub. I also love soaking a cotton pad and placing over my eye to make them feel amazing and reduce puffiness.

Moroccan Oil Original Treatment

A cult classic for a reason this silky oil nourishes the ends and leaves my hair frizz free. Only a small amount is required so this lasts ages. I find it works just as well on air-dried hair as it does if I use before and after a blow dry.

Radical Hydrating Cleanser

This citrus scented cream replenishes moisture levels and leaves skin feeling plump. Although lightly fragranced with fruit oils it’s super kind to skin and calms irritation. It rinses clean but does leave a hydrated feeling to skin after which could be mistaken as a residue. I love using in the mornings as the scent really wakes me up and the papaya extracts gently exfoliate prepping skin for makeup.

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Serum

A hydrating serum is a must have in my routine and this one is fantastic. Grape Polyphenols protect against skin ageing caused by environmental stressors and Hyaluronic Acid retains moisture levels. This formula soothes and conditions, my skin drinks it up! It has a milky consistency which absorbs beautifully without any stickiness. Perfection!

Skin Tip...

Apply a hydrating essence after cleansing, before you step into the shower! It locks in moisture and prevents the skin from drying out. In particular if I have time I like to apply a few layers, copying the Korean ‘7 step’ method to get that dewy skin.
