What is Olaplex Treatment?

Olaplex is a brand that has revolutionized the way people are able to work back dead, dry hair. The founder Dean Christal and scientist Dr Craid Hawker were able to create a new molecule that would focus on working on the inside of the hair strands instead of the outside, this gives the hair a better chance of repairing the damaged hair follicles where the structure has broken down. So instead of acting like a support to the hair that builds up around the locks, Olaplex actually strengthens and repairs the damage from the inside out. Olaplex is a haircare range that focuses on broken hair, split ends, and other hair problems and focuses on hair repair. Instead of creating one stand alone treatment, Olaplex has an array of products that help to improve the hair bonds breakage. All of these products are vegan and cruelty free, so while you are protecting your hair, you're protecting the animals too.

How does olaplex work?

Olaplex has a small selection of products that are all very useful when it comes to protecting the hair and reducing the risk of damage. Olaplex claim to have a three step process that can seek out broken bonds in the hair and can act on a molecular level to repair and strengthen them. Olaplex is said to be a game-changer because the active ingredients in this product mean that this product works on the inside of the strands of hair and focus on working form the inside out, rather than most other treatments that work from the outside. This gives the hair a better chance of repairing completely rather than simply looking repaired and still being damaged on the inside.

How long does olaplex last?

The simple of how long it lasts is simple; nobody really knows. Everybody’s hair is different so it’s difficult to figure out, however the obvious answer would be that it will last longer if you don’t bleach your hair, if you don’t dye your hair and if you don’t use a flat iron, straighteners, curling wand or any other kind of heating device on your hair. There is good news though, there are at-home Olaplex treatments that you can purchase. These products focus on everything that you would need to prevent as much damage and breakage to your hair as possible. Majority of people who use Olaplex, use it every between 2 and 6 weeks depending on how damaged your hair is. If your hair is badly damaged then you would be looking at the shorter time frame whereas if it is only slightly damaged then your looking at a longer time frame.

How to use olaplex?

Olaplex has a number system, so it’s pretty easy to see how to use the products because they are numbered from 1 to 7, however 1&2 are the products that you would have to get in the salon, and get done by a professional hairdresser, as they are salon treatments only.

You would apply the products in the order of the numbers so you would apply Olaplex No.3 Hair perfector first, then No. 4 Maintenance Shampoo, No.5 Maintenance Conditioner, Styling Creme No.6 and then finally the Bonding Oil No.7.
